About the Presenter
Katharine Allen is a health care and community interpreter with more than 30 years of experience in interpreting, training, and curricula design. She has an MA in translation and interpretation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. As a passionate educator and trainer, she is a popular presenter at national and international conferences. Her career includes a seven-year stint as an teacher in Glendon College of Translation’s Master in Conference Interpreting program. She is currently an instructor for the University of Massachusetts-Amherst Online Interpreting Certificate Program. She is the co-founder and co-president of InterpretAmerica, an organization dedicated to raising the profile of the interpreting profession.

She has a BA in Spanish from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis and a master’s of conference interpreting from Glendon School of Translation in Toronto.
